Pink Asanoha Clutch

This beautiful Asanoha clutch made from a vintage obi is woven out of silk and has a beautiful cotton lining.

Asanoha literally means ‘hemp leaf’ and this pattern is a stylized interpretation of the plant.  This pattern represents strength, health and beauty.

Traditionally, asanoha patterns have been put on babies’ clothes as a protector against evil. Since the hemp plant grows quickly, it was customary and common to use for children’s clothes, in the hopes that the child would also grow fast and strong.

Approximate size: 10″x7″x2″ Size may vary slightly as each clutch is handmade.  Variation is no more than .25 inch.
