Our signature waist bag is hand made from a vintage obi from the mid-Showa era. Kikkou or Tortoise Shell pattern has long been a symbol of longevity, so this pattern is also a prayer for long life.
The body is made from a beautiful Fukuro obi. The “fukuro obi” is made with a fine silk brocade or tapestry. This bag is made from metallic and silk thread and is woven like a tapestry.
This vintage obi was sourced from the Mitaka area of Tokyo, Japan.
The waist bag is 7″ wide and 14″ long from ring to ring.
