Description

This vintage clutch was created from a mid-Showa era obi.  The elegant obi it was designed if a mix of silk and jinken with an antique kimono embossed silk lining.

The arabesque floral pattern is very common on kimono’s and obis and was introduced  into Japan during the Asuka (592 – 710) and the Nara (711 – 794) periods via trade with the Chinese mainland.  Arabesque symbolizes the unity of belief and the perception of the traditional Islamic culture.

Approximate size: 10″x7″x2″ Size may vary slightly as each clutch is handmade.  Variation is no more than .25 inch.
